OUR LOVESTORY
It’s difficult to put our technicolor love story into words…but we’re going to try.
It’s the kind of love that feels it’s been there all along, glowing deep inside the chamber of our hearts, building, waiting for its time to shine.
Krissy is convinced we passed each other at Rome’s Trevi Fountain 10 years ago, but Alex is certain he would have remembered spotting someone like her.
We’d traversed the globe many times over on our own journeys, but it wasn’t until a party atop Nob Hill (ok… Lower Nob Hill) at our mutual friend Svetlana’s house, where Alex and Krissy finally met over a bowl of frozen banana nice cream and spirited conversation.
Krissy was Alex’s “Vegan Inspiration” and would always look forward to seeing her at gatherings for more tips. Krissy always felt a certain excitement seeing Alex.
Despite having met in 2017, it wasn’t until the dusty desert of 2019’s Burning Man Art Festival, that our hearts had the opportunity to intertwine. Our first date lasted 4 days and 5 consecutive sunrises as we danced on Cloud 9 all the way back to San Francisco.
The following months flourished with adventures across Northern California and deepening layers of connection. Somewhere between ferry rides on the SF Bay and apple picking at Alex’s childhood home, the idea sparked for an overseas excursion to Krissy’s beloved spiritual home, Thailand.
They say you can really tell a relationship will work if you can travel well together, and we can confidently say we found we travel BEST together.
In only two short months, we lifted paper lanterns to the sky, led a workshop at an international music festival, scootered around old Chiang Mai, and photographed the Cambodian temple city of Siem Reap (just to name a few highlights).
Each day overflowed with stories and characters, and somewhere between endless laughter fits and sheer joy, visions of a life together began to crystalize.
Following our travels in Asia, we landed back in California to spend the next 6 months of 2020 hunkered down in Napa with Alex’s sister Alana (Krissy’s sister-in-love) and her fiancé Mike (Alex’s brother-in-love).
We made the best of challenging times by living in our own Adult Summer Camp. Daily hikes, basement workouts, flowers galore, musical jams, and a ton of sourdough bread kept our spirits high, our immunity strong, and created a new bond of family.
Alas, our nomadic tendencies could not be kept at bay any longer, and by September we were off to continue our ever-blooming love story on The Big Island of Hawai’i.
Since then, we’ve been so grateful for each day here in Rainbow Country, living in a dreamy hardwood cedar yurt amidst a permaculture food forest, minutes to the beach we endearingly call Engagement Beach (hint: it’s the beach where Alex surprise proposed to Krissy).
We are beyond BEYOND excited to marry one another with all of our loved ones by our side, joining us here on this beautiful island.
Thank you for being part of our lives. We love you!
Big hugs,
Alex & Krissy
See you on the island!
